Daniel H. Smith

Associate Attorney

Daniel H. Smith is originally from North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After undergrad, he taught middle school math, science, and robotics at D.C. Public Schools in Washington, D.C., before deciding to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and become an attorney.

Daniel graduated cum laude from George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia in 2015 in the top 20% of his class. While in law school, he served as Articles Editor of the George Mason Law Review. During law school, Daniel interned for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. and the Alabama Securities Commission in Montgomery, Alabama, helping to bring justice to victims of financial fraud and abuse.

Prior to joining the firm, Daniel completed a federal judicial clerkship with the Honorable Paul M. Black of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia in Roanoke, Virginia.  Following his clerkship, Daniel practiced at a distinguished law firm in Roanoke, representing clients in civil and commercial litigation, insurance defense, and medical malpractice.

In his free time, Daniel volunteers at the Pines of Sarasota Rehabilitation. Since relocating to Florida with his fiancée just a few months ago, he has enjoyed exploring the Sunshine State with weekend trips and days at the beach.

Daniel is excited to be a part of the firm, particularly the opportunity to help seniors and individuals with special needs and their families. He looks forward to continuing his hard work and dedication to the success of the practice.
